Volker E. Amelung has held the Chair of International Health Systems Research at the Hannover Medical School since 2001. He studied Business Administration at the University of St Gallen in Switzerland and the University of Paris-Dauphine in France. He earned his doctorate at the University of St Gallen. From 2007 to 2022, he was chairman of the board of the German Managed Care Association (Bundesverband Managed Care e.V. – BMC). Volker has many years of experience consulting for international and national healthcare companies, as well as for the World Health Organization (WHO). In 2011, he founded the inav – Private Institute for Applied Health Services Research. Through his activities, Volker has established a broad network of experts and has strong connections in academia, professional practice and politics.
