
Aarthi Palaniappan is a high school student at Herricks High School with a deep interest in healthcare economics research. She has previously performed research in radiation oncology, earning recognition at the NYSSEF State Level and LISEF for her work within Monte Carlo simulations for instent restenosis. Beyond research, Aarthi has also gained experience in finance by working at a startup. Aarthi is president of Long Island Leukemia Together and TPF, an environment-friendly business specializing in homemade and customized bags. She is also a member of the Junior Economic Club of New York and participated in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student Visionary of the Year. Aarthi hopes to study healthcare economics in the future and continue performing research in this field to unearth opportunities to improve health systems.
