Jay Toor, MD, MBA, is a senior Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at the University of Toronto. He received his BHSc from McMaster University, MD from the University of Ottawa, and graduated the Surgeon Scientist Training Program with an MBA from the University of Toronto. Although his clinical focus is Spine Surgery, he is dedicated to improving healthcare system efficiency using evidence-based applications of business techniques borrowed from the fields of operations management, finance and artificial intelligence. In addition to addressing financial and operational inefficiencies within hospital perioperative care, he hopes to target supply chains and inventory management through novel technologies and strategies.
